Christmas ornament for 7 Dots Studio

I wanted to create some sort of hanger to put in the tree for Christmas (or to hang on the wall as a Christmas ornament).
Yuletide collection is absolutely fabulous for such projects.
I always loved the deer on the paper ‘Sugarplum’ and finally I had an idea to use it!

I made a step by step tutorial too, you can watch it here: 7 Dots Studio blog

Christmas gift tags

Hi everybody!

December, the month of celebrating traditions, cold weather, cosy evenings with hot chocolate and wonderful time spend with family and friends....

It is my turn on the blog at 7 Dots Studio today, so how could I not come up with something Christmas related!
I have created two chrismas tags, to give away or to use as a little card for a Christmas present.

I combined the newest collection Writer's Block with Yuletide, one of my favorite collections, because the papers are absolutely brilliant for these cold winter months...

I used the tags from the Writer's Block collection, but I cut out some paper from the paper pads to put behind the tag and sewed them together. This way it gives the tag more dimension.

I loved creating these tags, I used wonderful Lindy's Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Gossamer Gold, Starburst Grab a Guy Gold (which I can't link to the shop somehow?) and Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Poinsettia red gold ink sprays and lots of glitter, mica powder and other shiny embellishments. I want to enter my tags for the December color challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang

I used the beautiful Christmas related badges (flairs) from Accent scrapbooking too.

I want to wish you all a wonderful December month, full of joy and cosy evenings, a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2017.

I also want to thank Tusia for this amazing year, where I got to join this wonderful team, a dream coming true for me, and I am enjoying every minute of it....

Thank you for visiting!

'Moments in time'

I was immediately in love with the November color challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang

I was inpsired to use these colors along with the theme from our challenge at 7 Dots Studio, because the new papers from Writer's block fitted so perfectly.

I had a long time to think 'moments in time' over, but suddenly it hit me.
Time is moving constantly. Always flying away...
I took this picture from my daughter. She was not posing here, she was moving. It is unsharp but that's what 'moments in time' mean for me.
Not posing pictures on birthdays. But the pictures from every day life. When she is not looking, the beauty she has when she doesn't know I am taking the picture....the perfect moment in time...

I used the beautiful collection Writer's block, and I used the word stickers that represent those moments in time: that you tell your story, to turn the page, and tell the epilogue...

Lindy's Stamp Gang products used:

I used Starburst spray Tibetan poppy teal to spray paint my chipboard pieces, flowers, doily and splattered it on the background paper. I added some Moon shadow mist Gossamer Gold to my chipboard pieces too, so they would get a mixed shimmery blue/brown color.

The butterflies are stamped with my favorite Embossing powder Midnight Gold
I have that little jar for 8 years now, and it's still not empty, allthough I use it a lot!

I also used the beautiful flair (badge) from Accent Scrapbooking which I am guest designing for.

Thank you for watching!

Butterfly kisses, dandelion wishes...

Hi everybody!
I am so, so in love with the new collections from 7 Dots Studio
I hope you already bought them, because if you see them, you get instant inspiration (I did).
Today is my turn on the blog from 7 Dots Studio, I hope you will take a look!

I got some wonderful inspiration from the November challenge at More Than Words

Word inspiration: Special
Okay that was easy! November is a special month for me.
My daughter was born 7 years ago in November, and this month I always go through all her baby stuff, pictures, books I wrote of things she said or did when she was younger, video's and so much wonderful, funny, and treasured memories. To look back at the day it all began, well that's my special thing in November...So a picture from my daughter, taken just a few days before her birthday, represents my interpretation of the word special.

Creative challenge: Quote
Use something old, something new, something borrowed or something blue.
Well I used something old (old lace flowers I found at a fleemarket last summer. I cut them and glued them on my page). I used something new (the new papers, stencil and clear stamps from 7 Dots Studio) and something blue (the paper). I also used turquiose blue glimmermist to spray some of the paper pieces like the doily, flowers and title, to intensify the color. I also used blue rhinestones.

Xoxoxo (for Prima PPP and BAP October)

Here is my new layout, inspired by, and created for Prima Product Pick and Build-A-Page challenges for October
The PPP colors are just divine. Purple and gold are so elegant together.

I also loved the BAP sketch immediately, because it gave me the idea of using the lovely resist canvas I had in my stash for sometime now.

I decided to combine the challenges with eachother.

I used these elements from the sketch: the composition with stripes below and leaves. I used three pictures on top of eachother to use the 3 squares from the composition. And I placed the title on the place as shown in the sketch.

I started with cutting the resist canvas, then stamped it with a clear stamp and stazon, and wet them with water and a spray bottle. Then I used color bloom sprays with a brush to give the canvas color. Then spraying water again so the ink would spread. After drying I glued the canvas on the patterned paper.

Next step I used a stencil with light paste mixed with mica powder and glitter.

When light paste was dry, I started building my page with lovely flowers, doily dies, chipboard pieces, golden metal leaves and more. After finishing the page I splattered some white ink. Last but not least my ultime favorite: ultra fine glitter ( I call it fairy dust, because they intend to glitter through the air of my scraproom and it looks like fairy dust...)

Mixed media layout 'Angel' (with video tutorial)

I created this layout for the Finnabair creative team call 2016
I was so thrilled when the announcement was made, I really wanted to think this application through and come up with something special.
I hope you will enjoy my page.

As an extra I made a video too!

This page was very fun to do.
I used some different techniques this time, I loved the effect of texture powder mixed with black gesso, applied on the page with a stencil. I also painted the art pebbles with black gesso, never done that before, but the effect is very nice. I am sending my application for the creative team call tonight. I am so excited and oh yes, nervous too!

My inspiration for this color scheme came from Lindy's Stamp Gang Color challenge October 2016
Just love these colors together.
It was a challenge for me to create a page with these popping colors, that still expressed gentleness and delicateness.

Love (layout for 7 Dots Studio)

The beautiful blue papers from the Destination Unknown collection really are so vibrant of color.
I wanted to create something that made the color even more popping, so I used fuchsia and green in combination with white to get this wonderful, colorful page. I loved using these colors I normally wouldn't pick together.

I used (ofcourse) a picture of my daughter, we were in the zoo that day and she actually is lying in a turtle shell here. So funny.
I love her so much, she is my inspiration to create these colorful pages.

I have created a video tutorial for you, to see how I made this page.
I hope you will enjoy it!
